The system (10) has a surface (20) for direct contact with a coolant and partially coated with photocatalytic titanium dioxide particles in a direct and/or indirect manner. Photocatalysis is controlled by a light source such as UV-light source e.g. UV-LED (30) and/or UV-fluorescent lamp (40). The system stays in contact with a control and/or regulating unit. The light source is activated and/or deactivated based on time and/or event. The light source is optically coupled with a lateral narrow side of a transparent component. An edge (22) of the transparent component is optically encapsulated.
