The device (11) is designed such that a control lever mechanism comprises two control levers, where one of the levers is articulatedly connected with a folding top compartment steering wheel. The wheel and the other lever are linked at a main bearing of a drive system. Three joints of the control levers reach an over dead center position. The control levers are influenced by a control drive in a closed end position of a folding-top compartment cover (7), where the device released in a locking position is engaged at the control levers.
