The rotor (10) has a laminated core (12) provided with magnetic slots (30), and a permanent magnet (18) provided in one of the slots and attached with two different materials. An internal blank is made of one of the materials, and an external blank is made of the other material. The slots are formed by the internal and external blanks. The former material is designed as a soft magnetic material e.g. electric sheet, and the latter material is designed as high-strength steel. The materials are welded with each other.
