The method involves pushing a ship (3) in a harbor wall (2) by a hydraulic or pneumatic hollow body between a hull and the harbor wall without using a propeller and/or a thruster of the ship. The hollow body is expanded in its circumference by a pressurizing device, and is provided for holding a distance between the ship and the wall at normal pressure or by holding pressure in a resting state. Introduced fluid is sucked off for hauling the hollow body in an extended condition, where the expansion of the hollow body causes only extension of the hollow body perpendicular to the wall.
