The drive (100) has a controller, and an electric motor coupled with an output shaft (18) for a windscreen wiper arm by a transmission (3). The electric motor is designed as a linear motor (1), which exhibits an actuating rod (2) connected with the transmission by a bolt. The linear motor has a primary part with a coil (10), and a secondary part with a permanent magnet (12), where the secondary part is translatorily shifted relative to the primary part by an effect of a magnetic field of the primary part. The bolt is movably guided in a slotted hole of a lever of the transmission.
