The device has a divided substrate (2) for a driven wheel (4) of a motor vehicle (1) and forming a non-slip substrate (5) for a part of the wheel and a slip substrate (6) for another part of the wheel. A blocking unit e.g. rod (9), blocks driving of the motor vehicle. A traction force measuring unit (11) detects a parameter, which characterizes driving force of the motor vehicle, with blocked driving of the motor vehicle. The slip substrate comprises free-running rollers (7), and the measuring unit comprises a unit for detecting hydraulic brake pressure in the wheel of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a driving dynamics assistance system in motor vehicles.
