The device has a drive shaft (6) rotatably mounted in a bearing and support blocks (19) and rotatably connected with a segment gate (1). Segment disk pairs (4, 5) and the segment gate are arranged on the shaft. The segment gate is pivoted in a closed position, opened position, transfer position and an inspection position by a control of a drive unit. One of the segment disk pairs possesses a stop, and is connected with a drive cylinder of a drive unit (3). Holding brakes (11) are associated to the other segment disk pair, and a locking device (10) is associated to the segment disk pairs.
