Method for manufacturing multijunction solar cell in e.g. space applications, involves separating mass of semiconductor-carrier from composite structure, and separating sequence of layers as semiconductor material to form solar cell
The method involves providing a semiconductor-carrier with a bonding surface or an adhering surface. A carrier substrate i.e. sapphire substrate (40), is provided, and the semiconductor-carrier and the carrier substrate are connected to produce a composite structure. A mass of the semiconductor-carrier is separated from the composite structure by leaving a semiconductor-growth substrate e.g. gallium arsenide or germanium, on the carrier substrate. A sequence of layers is separated as a semiconductor material for forming a solar cell on the semiconductor-growth substrate.
