The system has a server electrode (2) fulfilling a detection area with a modulated electric field. A client-subsystem (3) i.e. zeropower(RTM: non-volatile RAM)-client, generates a switching event within the detection area. The detection area is partitioned into multiple detection area zones. A measuring electrode (1) is assigned to each detection area zone. The measuring electrodes are coupled to an evaluation circuit, such that allocation of the client-subsystem to one of the zones is accomplished based on properties of signals collected by the measurement electrodes.
