The roll stand (1) has two working rolls (2,3) which are arranged vertically over each other, where a roll gap (4) is defined between the working rolls. Each of the both working rolls is supported at its axial end in a bearing arrangement in the roll stand. The supporting traverses (5,6) are arranged at the position of working rolls, where the position of working rolls lies opposite to the roll gap. The supporting traverse is fixed in the roll stand.
