Crystallization method for producing a block made of a material whose melt is electrically conductive, comprises: (a) providing a crystallization system comprising a container, a heater-magnet module, and a control- and a power supply unit; (b) loading the container with the material to be processed and melting the material using heater-magnet module; (c) initiating the crystallization from the bottom of the container by cooling the melt, after the material reaches the molten state; and (d) generating a traveling magnetic field in the side sections and in the ceiling sections. Crystallization method for producing a block made of a material whose melt is electrically conductive, comprises: (a) providing a crystallization system comprising (i) a container for receiving a melt made of the material, (ii) a heater-magnet module, which encloses the container, and exhibits at least three coil-shaped side sections and at least two spiral-shaped ceiling sections, and (iii) a control- and a power supply unit, with which the respective side- and ceiling sections are separately provable with a predeterminable current intensity and phase shift; (b) loading the container with the material to be processed and melting the material using heater-magnet module; (c) initiating the crystallization from the bottom of the container by cooling the melt, after the material reaches the molten state; and (d) generating a traveling magnetic field in the side sections passing from bottom to top and generating a traveling magnetic field in the ceiling sections passing from outer side to inner side during the crystallization, such that a circular vortex flow is generated at the melt surface. An independent claim is also included for a crystallization system for producing blocks made of the material whose melt is electrically conductive, comprising (i), (ii) and (iii), where the control- and power supply unit are designed for generating a traveling magnetic field in the side sections passing from bottom to top and for generating a traveling magnetic field in the ceiling sections passing from outer side to inner side.
