The probe has a thin downward open pipe (2) arranged in a hollow probe (1) and connected with an inlet-and drain line (7) in a fitting article (8) at a probe head (5). A geothermal response test unit (9) is connected with electro-thermal suggestion sources and temperature sensors. The sources comprise heating elements. A probe tip part (6) and/or a test probe include measurement units for acquisition of temperature. Heat carrier fluid (3) is introduced into the open pipe. Effective heat conductivity of a started building ground is determined via the test unit that is attached to the probe. An independent claim is also included for a method for carrying out geothermal response test using a directional test probe inserted into a ground.
