The method involves determining delay time (tz) from input time points (t1, t2) of controlling of a head lamp (4) of a vehicle till emission of distribution of light i.e. dim light, of the lamp. The adjustment of the head lamp is adapted based on the determined delay time. The lamp is connected with a control-unit (3) or device via a Controller area network-bus-system, where the control device is provided with a microprocessor. A measuring signal i.e. acoustic signal, is generated and transmitted to a signal processing unit (2) and an evaluation unit (7). An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing the method for adjusting the head-lamp of the vehicle.
