The method involves estimating displacement of a still camera between two consecutive instants, and measuring blooming level of a corresponding image based on estimated displacements at a frame acquired at time. Another blooming level of the photo to be taken is estimated for multiple exposition times. The exposition time to be applied for acquiring the photo at the ulterior time is selected from the exposition times by comparing the projected blooming level to threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising instructions for executing a method for acquiring a digital image stabilized by a camera e.g. digital camera, in a portable telephone (2) a portable telephone comprising a camera.
