PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granulated steelmaking slag and a method for increasing the yield of paddy-field rice and suppressing generation of methane gas and nitrous oxide gas.SOLUTION: The granulated steelmaking slag is the steelmaking slag containing 20-200 mg/g suppliable silicic acid and 10-30 mg/g iron released by EDTA, or powders obtained by breaking the steelmaking slag or particles obtained by granulating the powders by a binder. The granulated steelmaking slag increases the yield of paddy-field rice and suppresses generation of methane gas and nitrous oxide gas. This method increases the yield of paddy-field rice and suppresses generation of methane gas and nitrous oxide gas by using the granulated steelmaking slag.
