PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AAM (active appearance model) machine capable of matching more input images with a model image, which include images being the expression of a category of a true subject though the images are normally regarded as a deviation from a defined norm.;SOLUTION: An AAM generates a first statistic fitting pair (the model image of a class of an object and the corresponding statistic model fitting) through the use of intrinsic features to be guided only from an extension library. Whole images in the extension library, which are not matched by the first statistic fitting pair, are collected in a second library smaller than that of an example of a true deviation value. A second statistic fitting pair is generated through the use of intrinsic features to be guided only from the second library. Samples not to be matched by the second statistic fitting pair are collected in a third library smaller than the second library.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
