PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for packing a carbon fiber precursor tow and a flame resistant precursor tow, capable of efficiently packing the tow by achieving stable housing of a thick straight thread into a container and maximization of the package weight, eliminating especially complicated work such as rot-proof processing, and stabilizing form of the tow to stably take it when taking it out of the package.;SOLUTION: This method for packing a thick carbon fiber precursor tow and a thick flame-resistant fiber precursor tow having 48000dtex-720000dtex in total fineness into a packing container through a swing chute is characterized by previously giving moisture of 1-5 wt.% to the tow before putting the tow into the packing container, and by packing the tow, to which the moisture is given, in the packing container so that the housing bulk specific gravity of the tow becomes 340 kg/m3 or more.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
