PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic clay composite having affinity to an organic solvent and useful as heat resistant filler.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the organic clay composite is carried out by adding a quaternary phosphonium salt containing a quaternary phosphonium ion selected from a group comprising tri-butyl hexadecyl phosphonium ion, tri-phenyl benzyl phosphonium ion, tri-phenyl methyl phosphonium ion and bis(hydroxypropyl) octadecyl isobutyl phosphonium ion into a dispersion in which swellable layered silicate is dispersed to carry out the cation exchange reaction, drying and pulverizing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
