PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-doped zinc oxide particle capable of forming a thin film having high transparency, low haze and high conductivity.;SOLUTION: The aluminum-doped zinc oxide particle contains 0.25 to 1.3 wt.% of aluminum, and has a specific surface area of 55 to 75 m2/g. The powder color in terms of CIE 1976 (L*a*b) color system is: L* is 85 to 91; a* is -9 to -6; and b* is 8 to 14. The zinc oxide particle is suitably manufactured by adding and mixing an aqueous solution containing a zinc salt and an aluminum salt with a basic aqueous solution containing a carbonate salt to generate a precipitate containing aluminum and zinc, washing the precipitate with water, and firing the precipitate after the water washing in a reductive atmosphere containing 2 to 5 vol% of steam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
