PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human body presence detection device which can be achieved at a low cost and by which the detection whether the human body exists or not can be easily adapted to the control of electronic devices operated by a human body that is an operator. PSOLUTION: The human body presence detection device 1 having a function for determining whether a human body exists within a certain distance from a standard position is configured of: a separation distance measuring means 2 for measuring a separation distance from the standard position to the existing position of a human body or an object present in a certain direction from the standard position at every certain time; a determination result forming means 3 for forming the results determining whether the human body or the object is in or out of the certain distance and whether it is moving or not, based on the measured separation distance; a detected state information forming means 4 for forming a detected state information composed of the results determining whether the human body or the object is in or out of the certain distance and whether it is moving or not; a state transition pattern forming means 5 for forming a state transition pattern based on the detected state information; and a determination means 6 for determining whether the human body exists or not within the certain distance from the standard position, based on the state transition pattern.
