PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode having excellent etching properties by solving the problem at issue as to surface treatment before final annealing in the conventional production of an aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor and making a surface layer oxide film in the aluminum material more stable.;SOLUTION: A surface layer in an aluminum material subjected to cold rolling is removed, thereafter, it is contacted with an acid aqueous solution comprising one or more kinds of acids selected from sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and phosphorus element-containing acid, and subsequently, annealing is performed, so that the aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode is produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
