PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating shrinkage cracking in a casting where the part at which the risk of generating shrinkage cracking is high in the surface of a casting can be specified with uniform and objective standards.;SOLUTION: In the shrinkage cracking estimating method, as an integration step, shrinkage cavity data obtained by three-dimensionally specifying a plurality of generation parts of shrinkage cavities based on casting simulation and surface data obtained by three-dimensionally extracting the shape of the surface of a casting are integrated in such a manner that the three-dimensional coordinate axes are made coincident, so as to obtain three-dimensional integrated data (S105). Next, as a measurement step, the shortest distance between each shrinkage cavity and the surface of the casting or the like is obtained (S106).
