PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for decomposing formic acid, which has high activity and is used for providing hydrogen (HSB2/SB) safely, efficiently and at a low cost. PSOLUTION: The catalyst for decomposing formic acid contains a mononuclear rhodium complex, which has a ligand consisting of substituted cyclopentadiene and another ligand consisting of a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound, its tautomer or stereoisomer or their salts.
