PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden on a user who surveys why an audience rating has changed. PSOLUTION: A program analyzing device 100 acquires video information containing the picture and sound of a television program and information on the audience rating of the television program changing with time, and stores a storage device with video information of a part where a rate of change in audience rating is larger than a first threshold or smaller than a second threshold in the acquired video information of the television program. Then, the program analyzing device 100 extracts a feature (for example, an actor or actress who appears) of a picture or a feature (for example, a voice as "home run" that a commentator shouts repeatedly) of a sound included in the video information stored in the storage device and reports the extracted information to the user as the reason why the audience rate is increased.
