PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device, method and program for simplification of component data, capable of maintaining an actual appearance shape and simplifying component data.;SOLUTION: A positional relationship calculation unit 12 receives component data 6 from a data acquisition unit and sets one or more inspection vectors in a first component model. The positional relationship calculation unit 12 carries out calculations to determine whether intersection points exist between the set inspection vectors and a second component model. When it is calculated that intersection points exist on all of the inspection vectors, a removal component decision unit 13 determines the first component model to be a removal target. A component removal unit 14 removes the first component model determined to be a removal target by the removal component decision unit 13 from component data 6.
