PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop position detecting device capable of setting stop positions, even for intersection that is to be crossed for the first time. PSOLUTION: A driving habit of a preceding vehicle is calculated from the speed and the traveling distance, when the preceding vehicle enters an intersection where vehicles have to stop before the entry. With respect to the stop position Si of the preceding vehicle, one that is corrected based on the calculated driving tendency, is used as a stop position Sp at intersections where vehicles are required to stop.
