PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel capable of suppressing variation of attitude, position or the like of the reel in a state that a reel engaging part and the reel are engaged with respect to the engagement of the reel engaging part and the reel being performed repeatedly; to provide a tape cartridge using the reel; and to provide a recording/reproducing device and an information recording/reproducing method and the like.;SOLUTION: The reel 7 for magnetic tape has a plurality of engaging gear teeth possessed by a reel engaging part of a recording/reproducing device and a plurality of gear teeth which can engage, and on which a magnetic tape can be wound. Further, the reel 7 includes a cylindrical part on which the magnetic tape can be wound, a hub part including the plurality of gear teeth, and a positioning part 4 which is provided for positioning of a specific gear teeth out of the plurality of gear teeth 9 and a specific engaging gear teeth out of the plurality of engaging gear teeth and which includes at least one side of a concave part and a convex part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
