PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transimpedance amplifier which requires no external reset signal, and a control method of the transimpedance amplifier.;SOLUTION: The transimpedance amplifier 10 ie equipped with a first transimpedance amplifier core circuit 11, a second transimpedance amplifier core circuit 12, an intermediate stage buffer circuit 13, and a gain switching judgement circuit 15 which uses a differential output signal output from the intermediate stage buffer circuit 13 as a comparative input voltage and outputs a gain switching signal based on the comparative input voltage, wherein each of the first and second transimpedance amplifier core circuits 11, 12 is equipped with a gain switching circuit for switching a gain on the basis of the gain switching signal 21, the gain switching judgement circuit 15 has a hysteresis comparator 16, and the hysteresis comparator 16 causes the gain switching circuit to switch the gain based on a plurality of threshold voltages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
