DIVIDED MECHANICAL SEALING ASSEMBLY, SUPPORT FOR A ROTARY SEALING ELEMENT IN A DIVIDED MECHANICAL SEALING ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING A DIVIDED MECHANICAL SEALING ASSEMBLY AND A MECHANICAL SEALING EQUIPMENT. A composite composite mechanical seal assembly is described to provide a seal between a rotary shaft and a static surface. The split composite mechanical seal assembly includes first and second axially adjacent annular seal members. The first and second sealing elements each include a sealing edge which contacts the mechanical shaft to provide a respective seal between the first and second sealing members and the mechanical shaft. A static housing receives the first and second sealing elements and engages the static surface to provide a static stationary seal, concomitantly providing a bending region that engages the sealing elements to form a dynamic seal between them. A support assembly receives a sealing member and may include a double angled conductor for ease of installation of the sealing member. The support assembly may include a detent notch for receiving and retaining an O-ring disposed around the sealing member. The static housing may comprise two segments matched with overlapping surfaces.
