A computer system and a computerized method for estimating a geophysical model using a grid of nodes representing points of a subsurface geological area are described. This method includes the preservation of a geophysical model of a subsurface geological area in a computer-readable storage device and tasks for a given geophysical model of a grid of nodes representing points of the subsurface geological area. This grid of nodes is a set of nodes extending in at least one direction. The nodes of this set are located at variable pitch, at least in this direction. In addition, this method includes the assessment of this geophysical model using this grid of nodes using a computer.
