METHOD FOR EFFECTIVE RESTORATION OF DAMAGED PORTION OF PIPE LENGTH DUE TO COLD END CORROSION AND EROSION IN AIR PRE HEATER SECTION, HEAT EXCHANGER PIPES, INCLUDING CONDENSER PIPES IN POWER GENERATION SECCTOR, PETROLEUM REFINING PLANT, CHEMICAL PLANTS AND PROCESSING INDUSTRY
The invention relates to an efficient and cost effective method of partially replacing the corroded and eroded air pre-heater (APH) tube due to the flow of acidic hot air containing flue particles. The invention comprises removing the section of the corroded tube at the cold end and processing the un-affected region of the existing APH tube for joining with a new APH tube either untreated or pre-treated at three stages to withstand any further corrosion and erosion. The un-affected APH tube and the pre-treated new APH tube are joined by utilizing a sleeve means and an anaerobic adhesive or any other convenient method. Fig.2
