LOCAL APPLICATION OF A GAUZE IMPREGNATED WITH HAEMOSTATIC KAOLIN IN HAEMORRHAGIC AREAS OF THE ORAL CAVITY, OROPHARYNX AND RINOPHARYNX.

The present invention is referred to a haemostatic method through a process for obtaining a gauze made of rayon and polyester impregnated with kaolin, which is applied to haemorrhagic areas in the rinopharynx and oropharynx. In the method, a therapeutically effective amount of the gauze made of rayon/polyester and impregnated with kaolin as active ingredient, is applied to the rinopharinx cavity after the adenoidectomy and/or to the oropharynx in the amygdaline beds after the tonsillectomy. The active ingredient of the gauze, kaolin, starts the cascade of coagulation upon bringing the gauze into contact with the blood. The shape, size, amount, application number, permanence and place of application depend on the surgeon criterion, provided that an immediate haemostatic effect is obtained. The rayon and polyester gauze impregnated with kaolin is applied in urgent and elective surgeries that compromise the rinopharynx and oropharynx cavities. The gauze is soft and flexible and may be cu t and/or used so that it may cover the surgical area, being applied without obstructing the surgical field in rinopharinx and oropharynx, the same having the facility of being removed and the main property of having an immediate haemostatic effect.
