A method for diagnosing the chronic obstructive disease of the lungs in the patients with arterial hypertension associated with the increased body mass when forced expiratory one-second volume exceeds 80 % and ratio of forced expiratory one-second volume to forced vital capacity exceeds 70 % comprises the assays for the levels of anti-inflammatory interleukins IL-6 and TNF-. The chronic obstructive disease of the lungs is diagnosed when IL-6 content is above 21.51 pg/mL and TNF- exceeds 9.19 pg/mL.
