System and method for reducing the environmental impact downstream water drawn from a hydro dam.; System to reduce the environmental impact caused downstream by water taken from a hydraulic dam comprising a floating structure (15) in surface water, connected to the water inlet (17a, 19a) of a tube (17, 19) and designed to float on water surface (5), and a water outlet (17a, 17b) of the tube (17, 19) connectable to a feed gate (7) in the retaining wall of the dam (2); the tube (17, 19) designed to accommodate different levels of surface water in floating the floating structure (15) without impeding the flow of surface water (5) through the tube (17, 19) being, and allowing the system performing the method according to the present invention, all, in case there is a hydroelectric plant in the dam, without power loss thereof.
