A purchase management apparatus (1) notifies a target userhaving purchased a first item about next purchase timing. The apparatus(1) can refer to a purchase history DB (20) associating user ID andpurchase history records, and an item DB (21) associating item ID andcategory ID. The apparatus (1) acquires user ID of a target user from thepurchase history DB (20), specifies a category using the category ID ofthe category to which the first item belongs, calculates a purchaseinterval of the items belonging to the category based on the purchasehistory record specified using the target user ID among the purchasehistory records of the items belonging to the category, and estimates apurchase interval of the first item based on the calculated purchaseinterval. The purchase interval of the first item with no purchase historycan be thereby estimated based on the known purchase history.
