A rotary drilling rig and a transmission device for a power head thereof are provided. The transmission device for the power head has a key sleeve body (1), the inner wall of which is provided with a plenty of key slots (11). Each key slot (11) is matched with a torque-transmitting key (2).The upper end of the torque-transmitting key (2) is provided with a first connecting part, and the lower end thereof is provided with a second connecting part. The inner wall of the upper end of the key sleeve body (1) is provided with a supporting sleeve (3), and the inner wall of the lower end of the key sleeve body (1) is provided with a supporting ring (4). The supporting sleeve (3) is connected with the first connecting part, and the supporting ring (4) is connected with the second connecting part. The device can not only improve the working safety and reliability, but also can facilitate manufacture, and effectively reduce the manufacturing cost.
