Disclosed in the present invention are a method for transmitting session messages in the instant communication and an instant communication client and a storage medium thereof. The method includes: the instant communication client receives a session message including text content from the opposite instant communication client, and the session message also carries a font identification of a personalized font; the instant communication client resolves the font identification from the session message; on the basis of the font identification, the instant communication client calls the personalized font configuration file corresponding to the font identification; after composing the personalized font configuration file and the text content in the received session message, the instant communication client displays the composed text content. By applying the present invention, the instant communication client composes the personalized font instantaneously and dynamically according to the message text content and the configuration information of the personalized font file corresponding to the font identification, without any local memory consumption. And only the text content is transmitted during the transmission processing; therefore, the transmission resources are saved and the transmission speed is increased.
