PURPOSE: Functional landscape soil is provided to promote the growth of plants, to ensure simple manufacturing process, to improve moisture content rate and soil porosity, and to reduce specific gravity of soil which is a main cause to load. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing functional landscape soil comprises the steps of: selecting at least one porous material consisting of natural inorganic foam particle, vermiculite, perlite, peat moss, volcanic sand and zeolite; dipping the porous material in the gel type aqueous solution formed by selecting one or more nutriments which is usable as a nutrient component of plant containing chitosan, gelatin, PVA, and starch; and applying the decomposition material for decomposing the nutriments on the surface of the porous material in which the nutriments is infiltrated into pores.
