PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for monitoring a viewing image are provided to recognize the monitoring of an image by the other person and monitor a viewing image capable of enabling a user to watch TV.;CONSTITUTION: If a second user requests a channel change, a control unit outputs a broadcasting program of a requested channel to an image signal by a decoder(S222). The control unit obtains an image about a corresponding channel(S212). If the second user requests to view the other image source, the control unit confirms whether the changed source is a monitoring target(S223, S224).
