RED PHOSPHORS CAPABLE OF SATISFYING LUMINOUS BRIGHTNESS AND LIFETIME CHARACTERISTICS, AND A PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL INCLUDING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Red phosphors is provided to prevent the deterioration of the phosphors due to VUV radiation or ion impact, and to improve luminous brightness, thereby improving the life time characteristics of the phosphors and decreasing discharging voltage.;CONSTITUTION: Red phosphors comprise yttrium(Y), gadolinium (Gd), an alkaline-earth metal element, and europium(Eu). The red phosphor is in chemical formula 1: Y_(2-x-y-z)Gd_xM_yO_3:Eu_z. In chemical formula 1, M is an alkaline-earth metal element, 0x+y+z2, and 0y1. The alkaline-earth metal element comprises Ca, Sr, Ba, or combinations thereof. The alkaline - earth metal elements exist in the red phosphors as a dopant, and are distributed on the surface of the red phosphors.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
