PURPOSE: A system and method for terminal authentication processing are provided to offer authentication related information along with authentication response to a terminal by recognizing the authentication system of a corresponding terminal based on authentication system information for each terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system for terminal authentication processing comprises a terminal(10), a gateway unit(100), and a authentication server(200). The gateway unit requests authentication process corresponding to the terminal according to an authentication request from the terminal. The gateway unit returns an authentication response corresponding to an authentication process from the terminal based on authentication system information recognized by an authentication process response returned according to the authentication request. The authentication server selects the authentication system of a corresponding terminal according to an authentication process request based on the authentication system information for each terminal. The authentication server returns the authentication process response, including authentication related information according to a selected authentication system, corresponding to the authentication process request.
