PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for estimating the dispersion of amplitude probability distribution(APD) model are provided to characterize APD with respect to noises of an electronic device and to acquire bit error rate.;CONSTITUTION: An APD curve calculating part(100) calculates an APD curve with respect to the APD model of noises of an electronic device. A linearity decision part(102) verifies the slope linearity of the calculated APD curve. Based on the decision result, a distribution processing part(104) selectively executes an identical distribution process or a different distribution process. If the slope of the calculated APD curve is linear, the identical distribution process is executed.
