PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing silicon using methane is provided to accelerate the reduction speed of silicon oxide into silicon by additionally using methane as a reducing agent.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing silicon using methane includes 70 to 100 weight% of carbon sources and 0 to 30 weight% of methane gas as a reducing agent. 55 to 75 weight% of silica stone and 25 to 45 weight% of the reducing agent containing the carbon source and the methane gas are prepared. The silica stone and the carbon are reacted in an electric furnace(10) to obtain silicon.
