INERT GAS SYSTEM OF A TANKER VESSEL, CAPABLE OF REMOVING HARMFUL COMPONENTS FROM EXHAUST GAS OF AUXILIARY BOILERS

PURPOSE: An inert gas system of a tanker vessel is provided to satisfy the standard regulation of the IMO(International Maritime Organization) by effectively removing SOx contained in inert gas.;CONSTITUTION: An inert gas system of a tanker vessel comprises sea chests(10), auxiliary boilers(30), seawater supply pumps(20), a SOx scrubber(40), and fans(50). The sea chests pump seawater from the sea. The auxiliary boilers provide heating for various purposes such as heating an engine room, adjusting the viscosity of oil, separating oil and water, and maintaining tank temperatures. The seawater supply pumps supply the seawater. The SOx scrubber receives the seawater from the seawater supply pumps to remove SOx being harmful component among the components of exhaust gas discharged from the auxiliary boilers. The fans supply inert gas removing the SOx to a cargo tank.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
