PURPOSE: An engine learning system and a method based on engine types are provided to prevent shift shock and engine hesitation caused by using data, which is not proper for the engine types.;CONSTITUTION: An engine learning system based on engine types comprises a memory, a unit for learning the engine types, and a data updating unit. The memory saves engine type data and engine type learning execution data in a predetermined section. The unit for learning the engine types is installed in an ECU(Engine Control Unit). The unit for learning the engine types performs the learning of the engine types based on the engine type data and the engine type learning execution data when an ignition key is switched into an on-state. The data updating unit sets data corresponding to the relevant engine type based on the result of leaning the engine type from the engine type learning unit, and operates an engine with the set data.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
