PURPOSE: A human intestine maltase activation inhibitor containing epigallocatechin gallate or epigallocatechin gallate-glucoside is provided to specifically suppress maltase without the activation of pancreatic amylase and to prevent or treat saccharide-associated diseases.;CONSTITUTION: A human intestine maltase activation inhibitor contains a compound of chemical formula 1 or 2 as an active ingredient. The compound is prepared by adding glycosyltransferase to a mixture of sucrose and epigallocatechin gallate. The glucosyltransferase is Leuconostoc mesenteroides strain-derived dextran sucrase.
