PURPOSE: An image registration method between an ultrasound image and a magnetic resonance image is provided to effectively combine a plurality of image information by reconstructing a floating image on a reference image. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasound image and a magnetic resonance image are obtained(S110). A plurality of controlling points is assigned to the ultrasound image and the magnetic resonance image(S120). An initial geometric transformation process is performed for the ultrasound image and the magnet resonance image using the controlling points(S130). The image is optimized using a mutual information method(S140). The ultrasound image as a floating image is reconstructed on the magnet resonance image as a reference image(S150).
