PURPOSE: A driving pattern based speed profile formation device and a method thereof are provided to produce velocity profile which is optimal for drivers.;CONSTITUTION: A driving pattern based speed profile formation device comprises a map data storage tool(10), a speed measuring tool(20), profile generating tools(30,50), and a profile storage tool(40). The map data storage tool stores electric map data in which reference speed for each section is recorded. The first profile generating tool produces velocity profile for each pre-set speed segment by using the measured velocity data based on curve fitting. The profile storing tool stores velocity of car and the velocity profile for each speed segment. The velocity profile formation device additionally includes the second profile production tool.
