METHOD FOR A PRESERVATION PROCESS ON A PEELED PORTION OF A STONE CULTURAL ASSET TO CONTINUOUSLY MONITOR THE STATUS OF A REPAIRED PORTION

PURPOSE: A method for a preservation process on a peeled portion of a stone cultural asset is provided to detect a peeled state of a stone asset and to confirm the junction and charge effect on a repaired portion.;CONSTITUTION: A method for a preservation process on a peeled portion of a stone cultural asset is as follows. A preservation process including junction and charge is implemented based on the principle that a peeled portion of a stone asset has different thermal characteristics before and after the preservation process. A specimen with a peeled portion is heated with a near infrared heater. Thermal images before and after junction and charge using resin are obtained. The temperature difference and temperature change rate of the peeled portion and a normal portion before and after the preservation process are quantitatively analyzed. The effect of the preservation process on the peeled portion is evaluated.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
