PURPOSE: A novel method for screening an agent for preventing and treating hepatitis C virus is provided to screen an inhibitor which suppresses binding relating to virus proliferation. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening an agent for preventing and treating hepatitis C virus(HCV) comprises: a step of preparing cells containing polynucleotide with SL2 fragment of 3'UTR X site or SLIII fragment of 5'UTR and core protein of HCV; a step of treating a test material to cells; and a step of confirming binding level of the polynucleotide and HCV core protein. The core protein has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 24.
